About Me
Originally from the great province of Nova Scotia, Canada, I am a software development engineer in Seattle. I am currently at Amazon and work on Java Spring applications. I have worked on a lot of things in my career but I do have leanings towards personalization (user profiling) and contextual retrieval (content based recommendations); some how I always end up working on those projects and if I am not, then I hack out prototypes that get turned into projects :-)
I have been posting a lot of fun code projects to GitHub and if you are looking for what I have been doing professionally, you can check out my Linkedin profile. I do have a special place in my heart for startups and open source projects and have been known to throw code at them.
When I am not coding, I do spend a fair bit of time jogging (I am slow) and snowboarding (I fall). Recently, I have been inspired by the movie Run Fatboy Run to do spin classes.
